Women in Academia Support Network
An international, intersectional , safe space for women academics of all stages. Sharing, empowering, changing the system.
The group aims to provide a safer space for all women in academia at every level to support each other, to build networks and to share knowledge, in order to enable women to better navigate academia, and to support women in their various roles inside and outside the academy.
Support
The academy has long benefitted from the unpaid and unrecognised emotional labour of women. WIASN aims to work with and further the progress that has already been made by ourselves and by other women. Our members have opportunities to offer and engage in practical, emotional and professional support in order to help each other to thrive.

“When you get these jobs that you have been so brilliantly trained for, just remember that your real job is that if you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else. This is not just a grab-bag candy game.”
~ Toni Morrison

Discuss
WIASN provides space where women can breathe out! Sharing guidance and advice, networking with each other and discussing actions that can be taken to create real change in our academic communities. No experience is too little, and no contribution is too small.
Connect
A supportive, but challenging space enabling women to connect online or in person, shaped by their interests and experiences. Unashamedly intersectional, we run on trust, transcending global, disciplinary and hierarchical boundaries. Our currency is solidarity.
